Organic Valley
Launches New Product with SoyLink Powder
 |
Organic Valley - a Cooperative of Organic farmers - has a national Soy milk product launch underway. The Organic Valley Soy is made from soy powder
produced at the SoyLink plant in Oskaloosa.
Ted Theriault, VP Sales and Marketing at SoyLink states: SoyLink has
been working with Organic Valley for several years to make this product a reality. We are very excited to help Organic Valley present a superior Soy
milk product to the market and look forward to working with them to supply their needs as their sales expand. Organic Valley is a Cooperative of Organic Producers from La Farge, Wisconsin. To learn more about Organic
Valley visit their website at http://www.organicvalley.coop.
The product is a refrigerated beverage available in ½-gallon containers located in the dairy case. Depending on your location, you should soon see Organic Valley Soy at your local grocer as Organic Valley expands the
distribution of the product.
Dr. Noel Rudie, VP Plant Operations at SoyLink: SoyLink has worked closely with Organic Valley to develop their Soy milk and we will continue to
work with them to support this effort into the future.
Dr. Rudie adds: While we continue to support Organic Valley on this product
we are also working with several other companies to use SoyLink soy powder in other new and existing soy-based products. It is very rewarding to see the
hard work we have put into the plant and our ability to supply superior soy foods ingredients to the industry.
One of the most exciting parts of my job is working with customers to
understand their specific needs and designing soy ingredients specifically for them. Our plant is very, flexible allowing us to work with products that include SoyLink's:
- traditional fine soy powder,
- roasted soy germ powder,
- defatted soy powder, and
- soy protein isolates.
The key to this flexibility is the de-flavoring and grinding technologies that provide the ability to make many different types of products. This
technology is what differentiates us from other soy ingredient processors in the industry.
SoyLink is able to supply the very stringent dietary supplement market
because it is able to meet the rigorous Good Manufacturing Process standards. The SoyLink plant is accredited or certified by the following organizations:
- Organic Crop Improvement Association (OCIA)
- Department of Natural Resources (DNR),
- Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- State of Iowa
- Iowa CHAI-K Kosher Certification
Ted Theriault comments about the importance of the Organic Valley product launch. We have an excellent product to showcase our SoyLink ingredients
helping us move one step closer to the goal of moving the producer further down the supply chain through new and innovative food ingredients.
