Art Brandli, Chairman
Art and his wife, Nancy, produce wheat and canola on their farm. He holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Minnesota. Art is a director on the Minnesota Wheat Research and Promotion Council (past Chairman), President of a local supply cooperative, past Chairman of the National Wheat Foods Council, and past President of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation.  In addition, he has been active in many agricultural and educational organizations throughout his career.  Board List

 

Gene Fynboh, Vice Chairman
Gene Fynboh farms with his wife Kathy on their corn and soybean operation near Brandon, MN. He was recently elected to serve as chairman of the Minnesota Corn Research & Promotion Council (MCR&PC). His willingness and ability to lead the MCR&PC is indicative of the many ways in which Fynboh has served farmers throughout his career. He has participated in the establishment of organizational structures for various cooperative, corporate, limited liability, non-profit and other organizational endeavors as well as directing and/or leading the boards of a number of entities. He is a charter member of his county corn growers association and has served in many leadership roles with the National Corn Growers Association. Fynboh ridge-tills corn and soybeans in an effort to maximize production at the least cost. Fynboh believes that agriculture producers are responsible for advocating, promoting and merchandising their products, and sees his service on the FarmConnect board as an opportunity to do just that. Dick Johnson, Secretary - Treasurer
Richard (Dick) Johnson has been a lifelong resident of Stevens County, farming there for 25 years.  He currently raises corn and soybeans on 1200 acres.  He holds an AAS degree from Moorhead Technical College, Moorhead, Minnesota in Welding, and from Lutheran Deaconess Hospital, Minneapolis, in Radiological Technology. As a participant in the original planning group for the development of FarmConnect, Dick also became the first member of the farmer owned organization. He has a strong interest in education and the field of agriculture.  Because of this, Dick has traveled extensively in South America in an effort to learn about and encourage entrepreneurial agricultural opportunities within Brazil and other Latin American countries.  Dick's wife, Yvonne, is the librarian at Ridgewater College, Hutchinson, Minnesota.  They have two daughters adopted from Colombia, South America. Elizabeth is a sophomore at Augsburg College and Anna is a freshman at Mayer Lutheran High School.  Recently the family moved to Mcleod County while Dick continues to operate the family farm in western Minnesota. Paul Aasness
Paul Aasness is a 65 year old semi-retired farmer from Fergus Falls, and raises corn, soybeans and wheat. He served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1978 to 1982. He also served nine years on the Minnesota Wheat Research and Promotion Council.  Currently he is on the board of Growers for Wheat Bio-Technology. He and his wife Phyllis have four children and eight grandchildren. Paul represents the Central District on the FarmConnect Board of Directors.  Board List

 

Tim Dufault
Tim farms 1600 acres producing wheat, soybeans, dry beans, and corn. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from NDSU in Agricultural Economics. Tim has served on the board of directors of the Minnesota Association of Wheat Growers and the National Association of Wheat Growers, as well as Spring Wheat Bakers and Mid-Valley Grain Cooperative. Tim represents the Northern District on the FarmConnect Board of Directors. Board List

 

Georgia Joachim
Georgia Joachim, Claremont, MN, is a FarmConnect board member for the Southern District.  She farms with her husband, Gary, in Steele and Dodge counties in Southeast Minnesota raising soybeans, corn, and hogs in an independent hog feeding operation. In previous years, the Joachims also raised seed beans and high oil corn.  In addition to commodity crops, Georgia has also raised clear hilum and large seeded sweet soybeans over the past four years for a local company that specializes in identity-preserved crops.  Georgia is a graduate of Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. She is a member of the Owatonna United Methodist Church and has served on both local and district church boards.  She also served on the Steele County Farm Bureau Board for several years, spending two of those as Steele County Farm Bureau President.  Board List

 

Jerry Perkins
Jerry Perkins of Worthington, MN, represents the Southern District on the FarmConnect Board of Directors. Jerry, along with his wife, Terry, and son, Mike, raises corn, soybeans, wheat and CRP on 1200 acres in Nobles County.  Jerry brings a global perspective to the board.  "I have worked for seven years in agriculture, cooperatives, and community development in Bolivia, Chile, and Costa Rica."  Jerry stated.  In addition, Jerry has co-taught agricultural cooperative development in workshops for six weeks in 18 locations throughout Lithuania, and worked for three years as an Ag Extension Agent on a Montana Indian reservation.  Board List

 

Kelman Kvien
Kelman is a lifetime native of Roseau in the far northwestern part of Minnesota, and represents the Northern District of the FarmConnect Board of Directors. He is currently Vice-President of the MN Barley Growers as well as a member of the MN Wheat Growers, MN Soybean Growers, RL Growers, Farm Bureau, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and on the project work team for the Roseau River Watershed.  He spent twelve years on the Salol Farmers Union Elevator Board (eight years as chairman) and eleven years on the Roseau River Watershed (eight years as chairman), in addition to being a director on the Cenex Harvest States Wheat Milling Board and the MN Association of Cooperatives.
Presently Kelman and Elizabeth, his wife of 32 years, farm 3800 acres with their son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Lori. They raise wheat, soybeans, canola, barley and grasses for seed production. Board List

 

Jim Quackenbush
Jim and his wife Amy, an elementary school teacher, live in Chokio, Minnesota. They have four grown children and two grandchildren. Jim is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, holding an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Diversified Agriculture.  Jim has thirty plus years of experience in production agriculture, managing a 300 sow farrow to finish swine operation as well as raising corn, soybeans, wheat and cattle in a family farming operation that included his father and two brothers.  Leaving that operation in 2003, Jim is now employed with Standard Nutrition Company of Omaha, Nebraska as a Consulting Nutritionist. Jim is a past President of the Minnesota Pork Producers Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Pork Producers Council.  He is also active in Farm Bureau as a Stevens County Board member and in St. Mary's Catholic Church of Chokio as a lector and choir member.  Jim represents the Central District on the FarmConnect Board of Directors.  Board List
